We’re back to the glitz and glam of the golden years! You’ll find us at the Queen’s Park Hotel, opened in 1895, and fondly called the finest hotel in the West Indies. The lights are low, and the band is swinging! Oh, the brass! Of course, you can’t visit this hotel without trying the signature cocktail, the Queen’s Park Swizzle. ANGOSTURA® 7-year-old rum, mint leaves, rich syrup, lime juice, a dash of ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters, all swizzled then topped with ice, and swizzled again! And darling, don’t forget the ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters at the top. The mellow, spiced, muddled drink is the perfect refresher for dancing the night away.

Throughout its history, the Queen’s Park Swizzle, and the Queen’s Park Hotel alike, were beloved! The hotel was known for its local charm, and the Queen’s Park Swizzle is testament to that. One cocktail enthusiast and author of Trader Vic’s Bartender’s Guide, Victor Jules Bergeron, famously called it “the most delightful form of anaesthesia given out today”. Visitors came from far and wide to marvel at our gem, basking in the view of the Savannah, as well as enjoying the grand rooms and of course, the elegant bar. The most famous of these visitors included the Duke of Kent and Princess Marina!

As time went on, the hotel was eventually closed, but its long legacy remains close to our hearts, and lives on in the Queen’s Park Swizzle with international fame. In 2023, The House of Angostura continues to recognize our beautiful history through this iconic cocktail. The Queen’s Park Swizzle is the quintessential Trinbagonian drink, combining our favourite ANGOSTURA® 7-year-old rum, lime juice, and of course generous dashes of ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters. There’s no better way to taste Trinbago history, than through a Queen’s Park Swizzle.
