Minister of Trade and Industry and CARIFORUM-EU Committee visit the House of Angostura
Port of Spain, Trinidad. Friday 10th November, 2017. The House of Angostura hosted Senator the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon and the group of visiting representatives for the third CARIFORUM-EU Parliamentary Committee, to lunch and a tour on Wednesday November 1st 2017.
The group, comprised of representatives from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, European Parliamentarians and Ministers and Parliamentarians of CARIFORUM Member States. They were able to see how the country’s famous Angostura aromatic bitters and award-winning rums are made, bottled and distributed. It was a great opportunity for the visitors to learn first-hand, what takes place in a distillery of this capacity, as well as the extent of its export thrust.
CEO Genevieve Jodhan, along with executives of the company as well as management responsible for production and marketing, were on hand to have lunch with the delegates and offer information about the development and expansion of the company and its products. At lunch, Minister Gopee-Scoon congratulated the CEO and the company for being granted the TTMA Award for most Successful Market Entrant for a large business in 2016, last month.
